Bath re-enamelling near Glascoed

What happens on the day

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a full day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the next day.

Advice

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Glascoed

The bath stays where it is, so the taps, tiles and plumbing aren’t touched. Most baths are done in one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths, and common reasons people contact us are brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a roll-top that’s seen better days.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Glascoed as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

FAQs for Glascoed

How long does re-enamelling last?

Look after it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes. Inside and out.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Repair or replace: which is better?

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why Glascoed clients choose us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale cannot build up.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Glascoed. What changes the price is:

  • How many areas need work
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Access to the area
  • Unusual colours or finishes

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Send photos for a quote

You can take the photos on your phone. Ensure they show:

  • Any details about the material
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your LL22 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
