Bath re-enamelling in Gresham without replacing anything

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. We regularly repair pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths, and people most frequently call us about an outdated colour you’d like to change and a peeling or bubbling previous coating.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Common problems we fix in Gresham

Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How long it needs to cure
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included

Choosing a repair company

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a full day for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The type of damage
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Send photos for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

What we can’t put right

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Why repair rather than replace?

A replacement often means several trades over several days. Re-enamelling is one technician, normally one day, with the bath back in use the following day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

Read our pricing or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
