Bath Re-enamelling for Grimethorpe homes
Full bath re-enamelling and resurfacing in Grimethorpe, carried out at your home and guaranteed for a year.
- Resurfacing from £350
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- Thin, worn enamel in places

What we cannot put right
We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Holes rusted through the metal
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
Bath re-enamelling at your home in Grimethorpe
Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths, and the jobs we see most are a peeling or bubbling previous coating and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Grimethorpe as everywhere else we work.

How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The material
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Quotes from your pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
How it works
We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we’re there, the work takes a full day in most cases. We leave the room clean.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- The bath is left to cure and can typically be used the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
How to get a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
Advice
Aftercare tips
To keep it looking its best:
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
Should you replace it?
A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and normally a day, with the bath back in use the next day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Why book with us

What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Work for landlords and builders
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.
Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
