Need bath re-enamelling in Hampton?

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Hampton

Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without a refit. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. Our repair technicians work on acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops, and common reasons people contact us are staining under the taps and around the waste and an old resurfacing that’s failing.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What happens on the day

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a full day for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.

When a repair is not the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath

Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Hampton

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.

The things customers usually mention when they call include:

  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • How soon you can use it again

10 questions to ask before booking

Repairing versus replacing in Hampton

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

Hampton: your questions answered

Do you need to take the bath out?

No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Hampton. What changes the price is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Hampton. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
