Bath re-enamelling at your home in Hanley
Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Our repair technicians work on pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays, and people most frequently call us about a peeling or bubbling previous coating and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it.
Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

What else we do in Hanley
Repairing versus replacing in Hanley
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
What you get with us
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- Most jobs done in one visit
- No need to remove anything
- Honest advice, even when it means no job

How it works
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take most of the day, including clearing up.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- The bath is left to cure and can typically be used the day after.
How to prepare
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
Ask for a price

Common questions in Hanley
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Is there a smell?
A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Usually one day, with the bath ready the next day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Does the bath have to be removed?
No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.
Do you work in Hanley?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to Hanley for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How much damage there is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How easy the damage is to reach
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.
How to get a fixed quote
You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
Upload a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Hanley, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Hanley?
By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
- A coloured bath you want in white
Comparing quotes
- How the colour is matched
- How your room will be protected
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- How soon you can use it again
For landlords and businesses
Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
