About our bath re-enamelling in Hebden Royd

When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. We regularly repair pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays, and common reasons people contact us are a peeling or bubbling previous coating and lots of chips and rust spots.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Calderdale.

Should you replace it?

Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

Read our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Keeping it looking good

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Never use suction bath mats

The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

How it works

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take most of the day. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Getting a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Related advice

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Hebden Royd

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Is there a smell?

There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.

Do you cover the entire of Calderdale?

The whole UK, including all of Calderdale. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

What we’re called out for in Hebden Royd

  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • Wear marks under the taps
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough

  • How the colour is matched

10 questions to ask before you book

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Hebden Royd as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Calderdale and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

What a repair cannot fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
