About our bath re-enamelling in Hexthorpe
If your bath is sound but looks tired, re-enamelling is typically the most cost-effective option. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. Typical jobs include a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and an old resurfacing that’s failing, on pressed steel baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.
All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee.

The process
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take most of the day. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.
How to prepare
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Open a window if you can
- Let us know about parking or access
Ask for a price
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

When to call us in Hexthorpe
Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

- An old resurfacing that’s failing
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Lots of chips and rust spots
What to look for in a quote

When we would advise against a repair
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Holes rusted through the metal
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
Should you replace it?
When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Why us?
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Colour-matched on site
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- Nothing taken out or refitted

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Aftercare tips
It’s all simple stuff:
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Get any chip repaired quickly
Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further.
