Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from photos

You can take the pictures on your phone. Ensure they show:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Most customers in High Street get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Bath re-enamelling in High Street, done in place

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without a refit. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. Typical jobs include a coloured bath you want in white and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, on acrylic baths, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in High Street

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.

Do you come to High Street?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to High Street. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will there be fumes?

There is some smell while the coating is applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Landlords, agents and businesses in High Street

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we will handle the rest.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

What we do, step by step

We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. You can expect it to take most of the day.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

Repair or replace: which is better?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why High Street clients choose us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • No extra charge for your area

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.
