Bath Re-enamelling for High Urpeth homes
Damaged bath in High Urpeth? We put it right where it is, mix the colour on the day and guarantee the work for a year.
- Resurfacing from £350
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it

When to call us in High Urpeth
Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
- Thin, worn enamel in places
What your quote should include
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- What protection goes down before work starts
- Who will actually do the work
- When it can be used again
Bath re-enamelling in High Urpeth without replacing anything
Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without taking anything out. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. Whether it’s brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a coloured bath you want in white, we can normally put it right, on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths alike.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

When a repair isn’t the answer
A repair is not right for every job, including:
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Holes rusted through the metal
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
Materials we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
Keeping it looking good
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Repair dripping taps early
Dry the bath after use if possible, particularly with hard water, and rinse off any bath products.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
High Urpeth questions
How durable is a resurfaced bath?
That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year.
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes. Inside and out if you’d like.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Does the bath have to be removed?
No, it stays where it is. We work on the bath in place, with the room protected and ventilated.
Can you make a coloured bath white?
Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Can I fix it myself?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish with the bath left where it is. Prices start from £350. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
The process
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which generally takes a full day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Ensure the area is dry
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
