About our bath re-enamelling in Homersfield
Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Typical jobs include a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, across basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and cast iron baths.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Aftercare tips
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
When we would advise against a repair
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- Steel that has corroded right through
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
What we work on
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
Can I fix it myself?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- The colour and finish to match
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The type of damage
- How easy the damage is to reach
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Homersfield. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send photos for a quote
When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- The material, if you know it
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
If you’re in Homersfield and want a price, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Homersfield
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
When can you do it?
Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Do you charge for travel?
We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
How do I book?
Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Homersfield?
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
If you can see any of these, send us a photo:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Several chips and rust patches
- Stains that won’t shift
- An old resurfacing that is failing
Before you book anyone
- Whether they match the colour on site
- How soon you can use it again
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

What happens on the day
On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take the best part of a day. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let us know about parking or access
