Bath re-enamelling in Hook, done in place
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the day after. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. Our technicians work on cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are stains that won’t shift and wear marks under the taps.
Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Hook and across East Riding of Yorkshire.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
When we’d advise against a repair
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Steel that has corroded right through
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Aftercare tips
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
- Never use suction bath mats
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

When to call us in Hook
Many baths we resurface have simply been well used, and only the surface is worn. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is usually as strong as ever.

- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
Before booking anyone

- Whether they match the colour on site
- Whether the price covers travel
- What happens if they find more damage
Repairing versus replacing in Hook
Replacing a bath usually involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the next day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Clear the area around the damage
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- How many areas need work
- What kind of damage it is
- How hard the colour is to match
- What the surface is made of
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from photos
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- Natural light rather than flash
- The material, if you know it
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- Something in shot to show the size
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job without visiting.
What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
