For landlords and businesses
Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
If you manage property in Horne, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Horne
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. Whether it’s stains that won’t shift and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, we can help.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

Horne questions
Is repairing better than replacing?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
What happens if you find more damage?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Do you cover the entire of Surrey?
All of Surrey, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Typically, yes. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.
Will there be fumes?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?
Yes. We can do the inside and outside if you’d like.
What happens next?
We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.
Aftercare tips
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- The material
- How many areas need work
- How many items we do on one visit
- How easy the damage is to reach
Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Getting a price from pictures
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Natural light rather than flash
- A photo taken from further back
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.
Honest limits
It helps to know what we cannot do:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A metal bath with a through crack
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
What we are called out for in Horne
Many baths we resurface have simply been well used, and only the surface is worn. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is normally as strong as ever.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Wear marks under the taps
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
What to look for in a quote
- What prep work is covered
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- Aftercare advice
What we do, step by step
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Clear the area around the damage
Get a quote
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Related advice
Why repair rather than replace?
A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Resurfacing renews the whole surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
