Bath re-enamelling in Hoy without replacing anything
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, with the bath ready to use the following day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. Common call-outs are for lots of chips and rust spots and a coating lifting around the plughole, in basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

How the visit works
Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes most of the day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Ensure the area is dry
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
Getting a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

What else we do in Hoy
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Work for landlords and builders
Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
For anyone letting property in or around Hoy, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath typically involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Re-enamelling takes one technician and normally one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What a repair can’t fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- A bath that is rusted through
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
Surfaces we repair

Hoy: your questions answered
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes, white is the usual choice. Mention the colour you want when you send photos.
Are you accredited?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
Can tenants book a repair?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
When to call us in Hoy
Hard water speeds up the wear, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.
Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
