Bath re-enamelling in Imeraval, done in place

Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, and you can use the bath the next day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. Our technicians work on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are a peeling or bubbling previous coating and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow the best part of a day.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • A bath split right through the body
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Argyll and Bute and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

Imeraval: your questions answered

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How long will the bath be out of use?

Most baths are done in a day and can be used the day after. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Why repair rather than replace?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What affects the price in Imeraval

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Imeraval. The price comes down to:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price.

What we’re called out for in Imeraval

Older baths frequently have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Wear marks under the taps
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
