Bath re-enamelling at your home in Jerusalem

When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. There’s no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. Typical jobs include a bath in a colour that no longer suits and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, across cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Repair or replace in Jerusalem?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing generally wins. Prices start from £350. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Honest limits

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Holes rusted through the metal

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths

Jerusalem: your questions answered

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

How quickly can you book me in?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Will the bath be moved?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

Different materials, different repairs

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Jerusalem

The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

What to look for in a quote

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • How long it needs to cure
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether they match the colour on site
