Bath re-enamelling in Kedleston, done in place
When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, re-enamelling is normally the most cost-effective option. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. We’re often asked to fix an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and staining under the taps and around the waste, across acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Kedleston and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
For landlords and businesses
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath generally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why book with us
- Colour-matched on site
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Typically one visit, start to finish

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Kedleston
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Can you quote from photos?
Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes. We can do the inside and outside.
What does bath re-enamelling cost?
Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
Does the bath have to be removed?
No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Kedleston?
Frequently the bath has just had decades of use. The body of the bath is usually perfectly sound.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean

How it works
We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take the best part of a day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the following day.
How to prepare
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let us know about parking or access
- Clear the area around the damage
How to get a price
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
