How we handle bath re-enamelling in Kildale
The bath stays where it is, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. It usually takes one visit, and can be used again the following day. If you’re dealing with a coating lifting around the plughole and wear marks under the taps, we can help, on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and basins & shower trays alike.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Kildale: your questions answered
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
Will the bath be moved?
No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.
Honest limits
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- A bath that’s rusted through
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

The process
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes the best part of a day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Before we arrive
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Make sure the area is dry
- Let us know if it has been repaired before

Related advice
What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.
Work for landlords and builders
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
If you manage property in Kildale, we will quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.
What affects the price in Kildale
Resurfacing from £350. There is no charge for travel to Kildale. The price comes down to:
- The material
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Quotes from your photos
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- What it’s made of, if you know
- One picture of the whole bath
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Kildale?
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and scrubbing it wears it down further. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
If you can see any of these, send us a picture:
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- Staining under the taps and around the waste
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- A coloured bath you want in white
Before booking anyone
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- How soon you can use it again
- How your room will be protected
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
Should you replace it?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is usually much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Prices start from £350. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Never use suction bath mats
The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.
