About our bath re-enamelling in Laxdale
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the following day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. We regularly repair basins & shower trays, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths, and common reasons people get in touch are stains that won’t shift and a peeling or bubbling previous coating.
Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Repairs by material
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
For landlords and businesses
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Na h-Eileanan Siar and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Questions from Laxdale
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
Does re-enamelling smell?
Some odour is normal while we spray, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.
Do you cover Laxdale?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Laxdale and the rest of Na h-Eileanan Siar. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is it messy?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
How durable is a resurfaced bath?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- What kind of damage it is
- Access to the area
- The size and number of damaged areas
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.
How to get a fixed price
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A photo taken from further back
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
To get a price, send two or three photos using our quote form or call us. We will say straight away whether it can be repaired.
What we can’t put right
It helps to know what we cannot do:
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
Materials we repair
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Repair or replace: which is better?
A replacement often means several trades over several days. Re-enamelling is one technician, usually one day, with the bath back in use the following day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Why us?
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- No extra charge for your area
- Colour-matched on site
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. Allow most of the day.

- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.

- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Store bottles off the bath
Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
