Bath re-enamelling in Linby without replacing anything

If your bath is sound but looks tired, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. Whether it’s thin, worn enamel in places and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, we can normally put it right, on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays alike.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • Work done at your home or business
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • One visit for most repairs

Repairs by material

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths

The process

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a full day. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

Common problems we fix in Linby

A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and scrubbing it wears it down further. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change

Before booking anyone

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

10 questions to ask before booking

Linby questions

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Will there be fumes?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It fades as the coating cures.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Do you come to Linby?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Linby from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

What affects the price in Linby

Prices start from £350. There’s no charge for travel to Linby. The price depends on:

  • Access to the area
  • What the surface is made of
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to get a fixed quote

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Any details about the material
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple:

  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and don’t leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
