What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Doing more than one item at once
- The colour and finish to match
- The size and number of damaged areas
We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Llanerfyl. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- Natural light rather than flash
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A photo taken from further back
To get a price, send a couple of pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will say right away if a repair is the right fix.
Bath re-enamelling in Llanerfyl without replacing anything
Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Whether it’s a peeling or bubbling previous coating and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, we can help.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
What happens on the day
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes the best part of a day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
Ask for a price
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What we cannot put right
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Questions from Llanerfyl
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes. We can do the inside and outside.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We come back with a fixed price, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.
Is there a smell?
A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
What happens if you find more damage?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Do you cover the whole of Powys?
We cover the whole UK, including Llanerfyl and the rest of Powys. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
Looking after it afterwards
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
- Store bottles off the bath
- Never use suction bath mats
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

Repair or replace in Llanerfyl?
Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the entire surface with the bath left where it is. Prices start from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
