For landlords and businesses
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Long Green use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.
Bath re-enamelling in Long Green, done in place
After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we don’t cut corners on it. We work on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths, and common reasons people contact us are a peeling or bubbling previous coating and staining under the taps and around the waste.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Repair or replace: which is better?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is normally much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
What you get with us

- We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
How the visit works
Arrival times are agreed in advance. On site, it takes a full day for most jobs. The room is left tidy.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Ensure the area is dry
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Keep a parking space free if you can
Get a quote
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Related advice
When we would advise against a repair
We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- A bath split right through the body
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- A bath that’s rusted through
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
Long Green questions
Can you quote from pictures?
Generally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.
Do you cover the entire of Essex?
We cover the whole UK, including Long Green and the rest of Essex. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will offer you dates.
Do you come to Long Green?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Long Green. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Do you need to take the bath out?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- The type of damage
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The colour and finish to match
- Access to the area
Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Quotes from your photos
You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:
- One picture of the whole bath
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Natural light rather than flash
For a price in Long Green, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Can I fix it myself?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
