Trusted bath re-enamelling in Bocking

Landlords, agents and businesses in Bocking

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

Bath re-enamelling in Bocking, done in place

We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. If you’re dealing with an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and an old resurfacing that’s failing, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

Bocking questions

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Essex.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

What areas do you cover?

All of Essex, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

What a repair can’t fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • A bath split right through the body
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
  • A bath that is rusted through

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

What we do, step by step

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you are not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes most of the day in most cases. We leave the room clean.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Advice

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Bocking. The price comes down to:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material and finish
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A photo taken from further back

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Repair or replace in Bocking?

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
