Bath re-enamelling in Lower Dean without replacing anything
We do not move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the following day. If you’re dealing with a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and a coloured bath you want in white, we can help.
Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cambridgeshire.

What we cannot put right
We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
What we work on
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
How the visit works
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow the best part of a day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
Advice
Other services in Lower Dean
Can I fix it myself?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

For landlords and businesses
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Should you replace it?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the whole room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Why us?
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Same prices wherever you are

What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The type of damage
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Unusual colours or finishes
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from photos
Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- One picture of the entire bath
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.
When to call us in Lower Dean
Older baths often have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Resurfacing sorts them out together.
If you can see any of these, send us a photo:
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating

- What aftercare is recommended

Lower Dean: your questions answered
What information do you need?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
Can you quote from pictures?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
Will the price change on the day?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Will there be a smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.
Will the bath be moved?
No, it stays where it is. We work on the bath in place, with the room protected and ventilated.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
How long is the bath unusable?
Typically a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
