Bath re-enamelling at your home in Magor
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Our repair technicians work on pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths, and the jobs we see most are a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and a coating lifting around the plughole.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Repair or replace: which is better?
There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

FAQs for Magor
Do you charge for travel?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Can you quote from pictures?
In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
What areas do you cover?
Across the UK. Prices do not change with location.
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
Is there a smell?
A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
Can you repair several things at once?
Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
What we do, step by step
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for most of the day. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Ensure the area is dry

Advice
When to call us in Magor
By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
- Stains that will not shift
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- Chips and rust in more than one place
What to look for in a quote
- Whether the price covers travel
- What protection goes down before work starts
- Whether they match the colour on site
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
Keeping it looking good
It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
Dry the bath after use if possible, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
What affects the price in Magor
Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:
- How many areas need work
- The material and finish
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Getting a price from photos
Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. It helps if you send:
- A photo taken from further back
- The material, if you know it
- Details of any past repairs
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
What we can’t put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
Work for landlords and builders
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
