Llanbadoc questions

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Llanbadoc included. Travel is included in the price.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. We resurface it in place, so the tiles and taps stay put.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Typically, yes. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send photos.

About our bath re-enamelling in Llanbadoc

Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the day after. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths, and people most often call us about chips and rust in more than one place and a coating lifting around the plughole.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Access to the area
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What we are called out for in Llanbadoc

Many baths we resurface have simply been well used, with nothing wrong except the surface. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is normally as strong as ever.

Look out for these signs:

  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Stains that will not shift
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

Comparing quotes

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How the colour is matched
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included

Choosing a repair company

What we cannot put right

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes the best part of a day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know about parking or access

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Repairing versus replacing in Llanbadoc

Replacing a bath normally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.
