How we handle bath re-enamelling in Marholm
Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, and you can use the bath the next day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. Typical jobs include a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and staining under the taps and around the waste, across acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What happens on the day
Arrival times are agreed in advance. On site, it takes the best part of a day for most jobs. We leave the room clean.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Marholm
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
What your quote should include
- How your room will be protected
- What aftercare is recommended
- How long it needs to cure
- Whether they match the colour on site
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
Honest limits
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.
What we work on
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
For landlords and businesses
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
What else we do in Marholm
Repair or replace in Marholm?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
Why book with us
- One visit for most repairs
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- No need to remove anything
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
Take a look at our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.
What your bath is made of matters
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
What affects the price in Marholm
Prices start from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Marholm. The price comes down to:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How many items we do on one visit
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Marholm. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- The material, if you know it
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes, often. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working that clears as it cures.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.
