Bath re-enamelling in Morton without replacing anything
We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Common call-outs are for an outdated colour you’d like to change and stains that won’t shift, on basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Repair or replace in Morton?
A replacement often means several trades over several days. Re-enamelling is one technician, generally one day, with the bath back in use the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Honest limits
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- A bath split right through the body
- Steel that has corroded right through
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Morton: your questions answered
Is a repair better than a new one?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Is there a smell?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Will the bath be moved?
No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.
Are you accredited?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Will the new finish last?
Look after it and it lasts. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.
Common problems we fix in Morton
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
The things clients usually mention when they call include:
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- A coloured bath you want in white
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough

What affects the price in Morton
Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- Access to the area
- The material and finish
- The type of damage
- How much damage there is
Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Quotes from your pictures
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your PO36 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
The process
Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes most of the day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Point us to the nearest place to park

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

Keeping it looking good
It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Repair dripping taps early
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Store bottles off the bath
Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
