Bath re-enamelling near Newbridge

Bath re-enamelling in Newbridge, done in place

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. We work on acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths, and common reasons people contact us are stains that won’t shift and wear marks under the taps.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Newbridge as everywhere else we work.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Newbridge

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Do you cover the whole of Hampshire?

We work UK-wide, so Newbridge is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What happens next?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, normally with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, frequently. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Resurfacing renews the whole surface with the bath left where it is. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a full day. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Clear the area around the damage

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • A bath split right through the body

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Newbridge

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Hampshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Have chips seen to early
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Repair dripping taps promptly.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

What affects the price in Newbridge

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone photos are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Email us pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Newbridge, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
