Bath re-enamelling in Oatlands without replacing anything
Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. If you are dealing with brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a coloured bath you want in white, we can normally put it right, on pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and acrylic baths alike.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

FAQs for Oatlands
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.
Are there extra charges for Oatlands?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
How long does re-enamelling last?
It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Usually a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
What happens after I send pictures?
We come back with a fixed quote, typically with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Do you cover the whole of Glasgow?
The whole UK, including all of Glasgow. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll offer you dates.
Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?
Yes, often. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How many items we do on one visit
- The colour and finish to match
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Send pictures for a quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:
- Something in shot to show the size
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Details of any past repairs
To get a price, send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
When we would advise against a repair
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
- A bath split right through the body
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
When to call us in Oatlands
Enamel does not fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use wear the gloss away, starting where water runs and sits.
Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
Before booking anyone
- How the room is protected while they work
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- Who will actually do the work
Landlord and trade work in Oatlands
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Oatlands use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Why repair rather than replace?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the following day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
What you get with us
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
- Same prices wherever you are
Read our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
How it works
We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes most of the day, and we will keep you posted as we go.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.
Before we arrive
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Let us know about parking or access
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.
