Bath re-enamelling at your home in Parc-Seymour
We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We’re frequently asked to fix an old resurfacing that’s failing and an outdated colour you’d like to change, across cast iron baths, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths.
Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Parc-Seymour questions
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.
Do the materials smell?
A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Will the bath be moved?
No, it stays where it is. We work on the bath in place, with the room protected and ventilated.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Why repair rather than replace?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
What you get with us
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- No need to remove anything
- Same prices wherever you are
- Rooms protected and left tidy
See our pricing or bath cost comparison.
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple:
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Repair dripping taps promptly.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
What we are called out for in Parc-Seymour
Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- Several chips and rust patches
- Thin, worn enamel in places
Questions to ask before booking
- How the room is protected while they work
- Who will actually do the work
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- What happens if they find more damage
When we would advise against a repair
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.
What we work on
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
Can I fix it myself?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
The process
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes the best part of a day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Getting ready for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
How to get a price
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We look at:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How hard the colour is to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.
Send photos for a quote
Two or three clear photos are typically enough. It helps if you send:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A picture taken from further back
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The material, if you know it
Most clients in Parc-Seymour get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
