Need bath re-enamelling in Pen-y-bont?

Bath re-enamelling in Pen-y-bont, done in place

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the whole bath is tired rather than one spot. If you are dealing with a bath in a colour that no longer suits and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

What we cannot put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that is rusted through
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

Common questions in Pen-y-bont

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send photos.

Will the new finish last?

It depends on preparation, use and care. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and our work is guaranteed for a year.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes, often. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Pen-y-bont?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your NP7 postcode.

Do you cover the whole of Monmouthshire?

All of Monmouthshire, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Generally one day, with the bath ready the day after. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Have chips seen to early
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, because they can mark the finish. Repair dripping taps promptly.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further.

Should you replace it?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How it works

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to most of the day, including clearing up.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Different materials, different repairs

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The type of damage
  • How much damage there is
  • How easy the damage is to reach

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your photos

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the entire bath

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.
