Bath re-enamelling in Pendine

Landlord and trade work in Pendine

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Bath re-enamelling in Pendine, done in place

We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Common call-outs are for a bath in a colour that no longer suits and wear marks under the taps, on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee.

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Repair or replace in Pendine?

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the whole surface without moving it. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

When to call us in Pendine

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and scrubbing it wears it down further. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

Comparing quotes

  • If travel is included in the price
  • How the colour is matched
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Questions from Pendine

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your SA33 postcode.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes. We can do the inside and outside if you’d like.

Do you cover Pendine?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Pendine and the rest of Carmarthenshire. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Does re-enamelling smell?

There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide. Prices do not change with location.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • A bath split right through the body

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths

What we do, step by step

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow a full day, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can usually be used the day after.

How to prepare

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
