Bath re-enamelling in Perry

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Perry

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we don’t cut corners on it. Our repair technicians work on basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths, and people most often call us about worn patches where water runs and sits and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Common problems we fix in Perry

Enamel wears gradually. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths dull the surface, typically first under the taps and around the waste.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping

Why repair rather than replace?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and generally one day, with the bath ready the next day. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • We leave the room as we found it

Landlords, agents and businesses in Perry

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will handle the rest.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Common questions in Perry

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Perry. Prices do not change with location.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Can you price it without visiting?

Normally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

When we would advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

How it works

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for the best part of a day from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, especially in hard water areas, and rinse off any bath products.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
