Bath re-enamelling in Pont-ar-gothi

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

About our bath re-enamelling in Pont-ar-gothi

A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. Common call-outs are for an outdated colour you’d like to change and an old resurfacing that’s failing, across acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Pont-ar-gothi as everywhere else we work.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Phone photos are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the next day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted

What we do, step by step

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes the best part of a day. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Common questions in Pont-ar-gothi

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Does re-enamelling smell?

A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes. Inside and out if you’d like.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Repairs by material

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.

When a repair is not the answer

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Steel that has corroded right through

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we work on in Pont-ar-gothi

  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Get any chip repaired quickly

Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Carmarthenshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
