Bath re-enamelling in Pridden

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Bath re-enamelling in Pridden, done in place

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Whether it’s a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and stains that won’t shift, we can normally put it right, on basins & shower trays, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths alike.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many areas need work
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What the surface is made of

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs

Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your TR19 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Pridden

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Why repair rather than replace?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and normally one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why us?

When we’d advise against a repair

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays

The process

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Stains that will not shift
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean

What to look for in a quote

  • When it can be used again
  • How your room will be protected
  • Who will actually do the work
