Bath re-enamelling near Reawla

Bath re-enamelling in Reawla without replacing anything

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. We regularly repair pressed steel baths, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are a roll-top that’s seen better days and a coloured bath you want in white.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Reawla?

In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

People typically call us after spotting one of these:

  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A roll-top that is seen better days
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Doing more than one item at once

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can give you a fixed quote.

Reawla: your questions answered

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Do you cover Reawla?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Reawla. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Reawla?

Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Is there a smell?

A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Repair or replace in Reawla?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is usually much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a full day. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can normally be used the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Advice

When a repair is not the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A bath split right through the body
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, and rinse off any bath products.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
