Bath re-enamelling in Rhewl

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.

Bath re-enamelling in Rhewl, done in place

A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. If you are dealing with a roll-top that’s seen better days and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, we can help, whatever the material.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
  • Holes rusted through the metal

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

For anyone letting property in or around Rhewl, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

Should you replace it?

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

How to prepare

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Rhewl?

Hard water speeds up the wear, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

People typically call us after spotting something like this:

  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • A roll-top that’s seen better days

Before booking anyone

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • What protection goes down before work starts

Choosing a repair company

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
