Rushton questions

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Rushton included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, often. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

About our bath re-enamelling in Rushton

We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. If you’re dealing with a roll-top that’s seen better days and lots of chips and rust spots, we can typically put it right.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Rushton

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and scrubbing it wears it down further. That is the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material
  • How much damage there is
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes most of the day. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice

Repair or replace in Rushton?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is generally much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Rushton. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to care for the repair

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, to stop limescale building up.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
