Bath re-enamelling in Scagglethorpe, done in place
Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. Typical jobs include a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and an old resurfacing that’s failing, across Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Scagglethorpe as everywhere else we work.

What a repair can’t fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A bath that is rusted through
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Scagglethorpe?
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and scrubbing it wears it down further. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- An old resurfacing that is failing
- An outdated colour you’d like to change

Why repair rather than replace?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and typically one day, with the bath ready the day after. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- The colour and finish to match
- Access to the area
- How many areas need work
- Doing more than one item at once
Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Getting a price from pictures
Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. Try to include:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Most clients in Scagglethorpe get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Looking after it afterwards
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- Never use suction bath mats
- Store bottles off the bath
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, don’t use suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
What happens on the day
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
