Need bath re-enamelling in Skinflats?

Bath re-enamelling in Skinflats without replacing anything

We do not move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the next day. Common call-outs are for a coloured bath you want in white and stains that won’t shift, across cast iron baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Skinflats and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Skinflats

Older baths often have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.

Customers normally contact us about:

  • Stains that won’t shift
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

Questions to ask before booking

  • How the colour is matched
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • When it can be used again

Our hiring checklist

Skinflats: your questions answered

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your FK2 postcode.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Do you cover Skinflats?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Skinflats and the rest of Falkirk. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we will plan for it.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

For landlords and businesses

If you manage property in Skinflats, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • How many areas need work
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material and finish

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The material, if you know it
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath usually involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the day after. Prices start from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why Skinflats customers choose us

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Everything repaired in place
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

See our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

What happens on the day

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a full day. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Ask for a price

Email us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Skinflats, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
