Bath re-enamelling for Slaithwaite Hall homes

Bath re-enamelling in Slaithwaite Hall, done in place

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths, and common reasons people contact us are worn patches where water runs and sits and stains that won’t shift.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Slaithwaite Hall

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Slaithwaite Hall?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your HD7 postcode.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you fix a peeling bath coating?

In most cases. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send photos.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Normally one day, with the bath ready the day after. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

What we are called out for in Slaithwaite Hall

Enamel wears gradually. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths dull the surface, usually first under the taps and around the waste.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • Several chips and rust patches

What your quote should include

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

10 questions to ask before you book

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What kind of damage it is

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Natural light rather than flash

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Repair or replace in Slaithwaite Hall?

There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the whole room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Take a look at our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Avoid suction-cup mats

Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

Landlord and trade work in Slaithwaite Hall

If you manage property in Slaithwaite Hall, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Kirklees and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

When we’d advise against a repair

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for the best part of a day. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Preparing for the visit
