How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse off any bath products.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

Bath re-enamelling in Sneyd Park without replacing anything

If your bath is sound but looks tired, resurfacing is normally the best value. There’s no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. If you’re dealing with a bath in a colour that no longer suits and staining under the taps and around the waste, we can usually put it right.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

Should you replace it?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What we do, step by step

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes a full day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can usually be used the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Sneyd Park

Enamel does not fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use wear the gloss away, generally first under the taps and around the waste.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off

Questions from Sneyd Park

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Do you cover the whole of Bristol?

Across the UK, so Sneyd Park is covered. Prices don’t change with location.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Landlord and trade work in Sneyd Park

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Sneyd Park as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Honest limits

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we work on in Sneyd Park

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
