Bath re-enamelling near South Perrott

Bath re-enamelling in South Perrott, done in place

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Our repair technicians work on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths, and the jobs we see most are thin, worn enamel in places and an old resurfacing that’s failing.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

South Perrott: your questions answered

Does re-enamelling smell?

Yes, while we are applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. There is no obligation to book.

When can you do it?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

How the visit works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes a full day. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Never use suction bath mats

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

When to call us in South Perrott

Older baths frequently have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How long it needs to cure

Choosing a repair company

Landlords, agents and businesses in South Perrott

For anyone letting property in or around South Perrott, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in South Perrott use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Resurfacing gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why us?

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • No need to remove anything
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many areas need work

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.
