When a repair isn’t the answer
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Materials we work on in Southfields
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
Bath re-enamelling in Southfields without replacing anything
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. We work on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays, and common reasons people contact us are several chips and rust patches and stains that won’t shift.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- Doing more than one item at once
- How much damage there is
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Southfields. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Details of any past repairs
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Email us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Southfields, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Southfields
Will the new finish last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
What happens after I send photos?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes, often. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
How quickly can you book me in?
Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
Do you cover Southfields?
We do. Repair technicians travel to Southfields from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.
Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Southfields
Older baths frequently have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- Chips and rust in more than one place
What your quote should include
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- What preparation is included
- How long it needs to cure

Should you replace it?
Replacing the bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Resurfacing renews the entire surface without moving it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Aftercare tips
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
- Have chips seen to early
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale cannot build up.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

DIY kit or professional repair?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
What we do, step by step
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a full day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
