DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
How we handle bath re-enamelling in St Ann's
Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. Common call-outs are for stains that won’t shift and wear marks under the taps, in basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in St Ann's and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Repairs by material
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in St Ann's?
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
People usually call us when they notice one of these:
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
- An old resurfacing that is failing
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- Thin, worn enamel in places

Common questions in St Ann's
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Nottingham.
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
Do you come to St Ann's?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to St Ann's and the rest of Nottingham. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is there a call-out fee?
We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
Is the work guaranteed?
All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Will the price change on the day?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?
Yes. Inside and out.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
The process
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to most of the day, including clearing up.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.
How to prepare
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Let us know about parking or access
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Advice
Landlord and trade work in St Ann's
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Keeping it looking good
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Repair dripping taps early
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time and make the job bigger. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
Why repair rather than replace?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.
What you get with us
- We leave the room as we found it
- One visit for most repairs
- We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- No need to remove anything

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. The main factors are:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- What the surface is made of
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How hard the colour is to match
A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed quote
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- One picture of the entire bath
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
