Bath re-enamelling at your home in St Philip's Marsh
When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, re-enamelling is generally the most cost-effective option. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. We are frequently asked to fix stains that won’t shift and an old resurfacing that’s failing, on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

When a repair is not the answer
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- A bath that is rusted through
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
Work for landlords and builders
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. The main factors are:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How many areas need work
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed price
Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- The material, if you know it
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
Repairing versus replacing in St Philip's Marsh
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, normally one day, and the bath is usable the day after. Prices start from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Why us?
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Usually one visit, start to finish
- Fixed prices from your photos
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

Aftercare tips
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a full day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.
Before we arrive
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
How to get a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
Advice
Can I fix it myself?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
