Bath re-enamelling at your home in Stoke Ash
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Typical jobs include a coating lifting around the plughole and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, on Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Repairing versus replacing in Stoke Ash
A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Resurfacing gives the bath a new finish with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
Why Stoke Ash clients choose us

Questions from Stoke Ash
How long does re-enamelling last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.
Which areas do you work in?
The whole UK, including all of Suffolk. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.
Is there a guarantee?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
Does re-enamelling smell?
There is some smell while the coating is applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
Do you need to take the bath out?
No, it stays where it is. We work on the bath in place, with the room protected and ventilated.
Aftercare tips
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
What affects the price in Stoke Ash
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Stoke Ash. The price reflects:
- The type of damage
- How hard the colour is to match
- Doing more than one item at once
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Send pictures for a quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- Natural light rather than flash
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- Where you are, by postcode
- Something in shot to show the size
To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

When to call us in Stoke Ash
Enamel wears gradually. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths dull the surface, starting where water runs and sits.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- An old resurfacing that is failing
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
What your quote should include
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- What aftercare is recommended
- How long it needs to cure
- If travel is included in the price
For landlords and businesses
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
What we do, step by step
You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It usually takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
Ask for a price
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
