Bath Re-enamelling in Sunset
Bath re-enamelling in and around Sunset: photo quotes, tidy work and a year’s guarantee.
- Resurfacing from £350
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- Several chips and rust patches

About our bath re-enamelling in Sunset
Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Common call-outs are for a coloured bath you want in white and a peeling or bubbling previous coating, on Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and cast iron baths.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

Looking after it afterwards
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Have chips seen to early
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
What we do, step by step
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which usually takes a full day. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
How to prepare
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Clear the area around the damage
- Have a window or extractor fan available
Getting a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Sunset. The price comes down to:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Access to the area
- What the surface is made of
We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Quotes from your photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Any details about the material
- Something in shot to show the size
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

For landlords and businesses
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Sunset use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Sunset questions
How long will the bath be out of use?
One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We give you timings with the quote.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
Does re-enamelling smell?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
Is the work guaranteed?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
What happens after I send photos?
You’ll get a fixed quote back, typically with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.
Are there extra charges for Sunset?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Sunset?
Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- A coloured bath you want in white
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
