Bath re-enamelling at your home in Sutton Ings

We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. We regularly repair cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths, and the jobs we see most are an old resurfacing that’s failing and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Sutton Ings. The price comes down to:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material
  • The type of damage
  • The size and number of damaged areas

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

How to get a fixed quote

Two or three clear photos are typically enough. Try to include:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One picture of the whole bath

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Hull and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Repair or replace in Sutton Ings?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, generally one day, with the bath back in use the following day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.

Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further.

How the visit works

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a full day.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Getting ready for the visit

Advice

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • A bath split right through the body
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Sutton Ings: your questions answered

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is there a smell?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It fades as the coating cures.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you quote from photos?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

How long will the bath be out of use?

Generally one day, with the bath ready the next day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
