About our bath re-enamelling in East Ella
The bath stays where it is, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. It usually takes one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. We work on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays, and people most often call us about staining under the taps and around the waste and worn patches where water runs and sits.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

FAQs for East Ella
Does re-enamelling smell?
A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide, and that includes East Ella. Prices don’t change with location.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in East Ella.
Can you price it without visiting?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.
Will the bath be moved?
No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.
How long does re-enamelling last?
It depends on preparation, use and care. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and our work is guaranteed for a year.
Will there be a smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working that clears as it cures.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
How the visit works
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take the best part of a day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Let us know about parking or access
How to get a price

Related advice
When a repair is not the answer
We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale can’t build up.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
Common problems we fix in East Ella
Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.
Customers normally contact us about:
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- Several chips and rust patches
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- What the surface is made of
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How hard the colour is to match
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for East Ella. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send pictures for a quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Natural light rather than flash
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
